Chocolate Cobbler Recipe
I’m sure you’re familiar with Peach Cobbler and Apple Cobbler, but did you know there is also a Chocolate Cobbler?
Yes . . . CHOCOLATE Cobbler . . . and it is sooooo good!
Here is how it’s made:
You will need:
6 Tablespoons Butter
1 Cup Self Rising Flour
3/4 Cup White Sugar
1 and 1/2 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1/2 Cup Milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract (Flavoring)
1 Cup White Sugar
1/4 Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
1 and 1/2 Cups Boiling Water
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Then, melt 6 tablespoons of butter in an 8 X 8 baking dish. I placed the butter into the baking dish and melted it inside the oven while the oven was preheating.
Stir together 1 Cup self-rising flour, 3/4 Cup of sugar, and 1 1/2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder. Then, stir in 1/2 cup of milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract/flavoring.
Spoon the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish. Then, stir together 1 cup of white sugar and 1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder. Sprinkle the mixture over the batter.
Boil 1 1/2 cups of water and then pour it over the top of the mixture.
Bake for 30 minutes or until it appears set. Serve warm with ice cream.
Well . . . we were out of ice cream, but it didn’t matter. This turned out so well! It requires typical ingredients that most people have around the kitchen all the time and it doesn’t take long to prepare. You can whip it together almost anytime without having to run to the grocery store for that one odd ingredient that you never have around.
This is what it looked like after I pulled it out of my oven. You can smell the chocolate, can’t you?
Here is the serving I enjoyed!
