Back To School Backpack or Lunchbox Tags
It’s time for Back to School Preparations! Help your children or students keep up with their lunchboxes and backpacks and other belongings. Create simple tags from basic supplies.
2 Large Foam Circles (about the size of a half dollar)
Key Chain(or a clip made for backpacks)
Pen or Marker
White Craft Glue
Durable Cord (same or similar to jewelry cord)
Trace a circle onto the cardboard. Use one of the foam circles as a template. The cardboard circle will need to be a little bit smaller than the foam circle.
An adult should poke a hold into the center of the cardboard.
Cut a piece of the durable cord so that it measures approximately 12 inches long and thread it through the hold in the cardboard circle.
Tie the cord securely to the key chain or backpack clip.
Glue a foam circle onto each side of the cardboard circle so that it hides the cord and they mesh evenly.
Add wiggly eyes to the foam circle and attach feathers to the top (head).
Allow to dry.
If needed, yarn may be used instead of feathers. You can have the children use markers to draw on features or get creative and allow them to use other materials lying around the room to mold into other facial features such as a nose or mouth.
